2. Why it was important ? The Chinese Communist Party was important because it made thousands of people give up their life in order to support Mao Zedong’s Great Leap Forward. This included their homes, farm animals, jewelry, and more, and if they didn’t collaborate, they’d be considered “anti-party” which would destroy their life and reputation. People were forced to lie about how much goods they could produce or they’d be beaten. This resulted in a famine all over China. Zedong’s Cultural Revolution was the first power struggle between members of the Chinese Communist Party and the first struggle to eliminate enemies such as “rightists,” “intellectuals,” and “capital-roaders.”

3. Important Facts Zedong rounded up students and young people to create his Red Guards group. Then, he had them attack their elders and class enemies. Zedong’s wife, Jiang Qing, established the Gang of Four. She was arrested for plotting to rise against the state. (They’re evil dictators. O_O ).
